In 2020, Kazakhstan increased refined copper export prices by 43% YoY.
Output grew by 1%.
Copper ore mining went up by 1.8%, to 121.9 million tons. The East Kazakhstan region yielded 52 million tons, Karaganda – 34.1 million tons and Pavlodar – 33.6 million tons.
Kazakhmys exceeded its ore output plan by 0.8%, to 29.4 million tons. Average copper content in ore was 1% with the target being 0.94%. The company also produced 258.4 thousand tons of cathode copper and intends to produce 243.8 thousand tons this year.
