Ukraine: EMSS makes 7 thousand steel smeltings

The new DSP-70 complex in the Energomashspetsstal electric arc shop has carried out its 7000th smelting. The complex was commissioned in 2012. This was the last stage of the 7-year program to modernize the works. Investments in 2005-2012 exceeded $300 million. The maximum weight of an ingot produced at EMSS is 415 tons. (Ukrainian metal)

This year Zaporizhstal has mastered the manufacture of 8 new types of hot- and cold-rolled metal. “Next year we intend to start producing 7 more”, the company CEO Alexander Mironenko has said.
