Solway Investment Group, owner of Pobuzhye Ferronickel Plant, is closely watching the situation with the ban of nickel ore exports from Indonesia.
“So far the information from Indonesia has been controversial. We are closely watching the situation with the temporary halt of nickel ore exports and taking steps to increase purchases from other countries. For now PFK is provided with ore to fulfill this year’s program”, the company reported.
In January-September Ukraine decreased nickel ore and concentrate imports by 13.4% YoY, to 973.595 thousand tons.
The main suppliers were Guatemala (45.31%) and Indonesia (54.69%).
In Ukraine nickel ore is processed by Pobuzhye Ferronickel Plant. This year it plans to process 1.572 million tons of ore, having produced 85.1 thousand tons of ferronickel (18.1 thousand tons of nickel). (Ukrainian metal)
