EPM-Chelyabinsk Electrode Works has shut down its anode manufacture.
The decision has been taken due to a very unfavorable situation on world markets of graphite gray products, in particular, anode blocks, which are the main wares of the company.
In less than a year the EPM-ChEZ anode price has dropped by more than 30%, making it profitless.
The shut down process began in late September and would last until the end of the year.
Some quarter of employees will be transferred to another EPM enterprise – Donkarb Grafit. (Ukrainian metal)
