Mechel-Koks has shut down its coke oven battery No. 8 for reconstruction to decrease pollution.
The coke oven gas pipeline and ammonium water pipeline will be replaced.
During the reconstruction a temperature of around 1 thousand degrees C will be maintained at the battery in order to keep the refractory brick lining intact.
The modernized coke oven battery will be commissioned in late March 2020. (Ukrainian metal)
