On August 21 the electric arc shop No. 1 of Belarus Iron and Steel Works produced the 55-millionth ton of steel.
It took the enterprise almost 35 years to reach the mark.
In January-July BMZ produced 1.5 million tons of steel, up by 12% YoY. Over 83% of steel produced was exported to 63 countries.
The first million ton was produced in September 1986, in 2007 the company exceeded the 25-million tons mark, in 2017 – 50-million and in two years the 55-millionth ton was produced. (Ukrainian metal)
