The sinking of a Skipovo-Kletevaya mine shaft has begun at the Novo-Uchalinsky mine of the Uchaly Mining and Processing Works.

55 employees are involved in the work.

This year it is expected to sink the shaft to 330 meters. The construction of the shaft will be finished in 2024 at the depth of 1530 meters.

When the works reaches its design capacity it will be mining some 4.5 million tons of copper ore per year.

Reserves of the deposit are estimated at 116 million tons.

So far 4.5 billion rubles have been invested in construction. The total amount of investment can reach 19 billion rubles. (Ukrainian metal)
