At two plate-rolling workshops of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), a new digital system has been put in operation to monitor the number of cars that are in commercial operation. The system will allow for rapid identification of violations during work with rolling stock and significantly improve the efficiency of shipment unloading.

In the workshops, video surveillance equipment, software and hardware to recognize the car number, a system to determine the direction of the cars, and the number of cargo inside the cars have been installed. The new system is integrated with automated systems of the enterprise.

MMK-Informservice was responsible for the implementation of the new monitoring system.

In 2019-2020, MMK plans to integrate the system into its other rolling mills. (MMK/Ukrainian metal)
