Port Ugolniy Company, a part of Tigers Realm Coal (TIG), has started navigation in the port of Beringovskiy in Chukotka.
The first bulker to be loaded this year was the Densa Cougar flying the Maltese flag.
The vessel will take some 50 thousand tons of coal to the Asia-Pacific region countries.
The loading is made with the help of 100-ton barges. But this year 500-ton barges will also join the fleet.
This year Port Ugolniy expects to load 15 to 18 bulkers.
Last year TIG and its Russian subsidiaries – Beringpromugol and Port Ugolniy – mined 576 thousand tons of coal and shipped 393 thousand tons to the APR countries, including 214 thousand tons of coking coal and 179 thousand tons of power-generating coal. This year TIG plans to mine 680-750 thousand tons of coal and sell 650-720 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
