A certificate for UAH 155 thousand was presented at the State Fire Emergency Response Station No. 11 for repair of fire-fighting and special-purpose equipment. This is the equipment that is owned by the Fire Rescue Unit No. 3. This Unit includes 8 fire stations that serve the city.

Financial aid was granted by the request from the head office of State Emergency Management Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region.

This money will be allocated for the purchase of spare parts (accumulator batteries and tires) required for repair of fire-fighting trucks. It will enable them to keep their firefighting and special-purpose equipment fit for operation within daily management of natural disasters and man-caused emergencies and their consequences. Moreover, availability of sufficient number of equipment items will enable to reduce time required to come to the call site, as well as increase speed of fire suppression.

Gennadiy Yereshko, Head of State Fire Rescue Unit No.3 (Kriviy Rih): “There have been 978 call responses of fire rescue crews registered since the beginning of year, and 327 of them are fire responses. Any failure of firefighting truck causes late response and poor fire suppression. Every minute counts in our work because this time might be enough to save someone’s life. Financial aid from ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will be allocated for repair of trucks, purchasing of equipment and special clothing for the crews, and, foremost, for the fire stations that are located at the territory of Metalurgiinyi district”.
