In January-April, Ukraine mined 10.204 million tons of coal, down by 9.2% YoY.
In particular, coking coal output dropped by 25.1%, to 1.618 million tons, while that of power-generating – by 5.4%, to 8.586 million tons.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, in April coal mining decreased by 14.9% YoY, to 2.439 million tons.
In 4 months, the ministry-managed enterprises decreased coal output by 18.6% YoY, to 1.262 million tons, including coking coal – up by 23.1%, to 227.1 thousand tons, and power-generating coal – down by 24.2%, to 1.035 million tons.
The mines of Donetsk region in January-April extracted 3.316 million tons of coal, down by 15.8%, Lugansk – 146.2 thousand tons (-26.8%), Dniepropetrovsk – 6.237 million tons (-4.2%), Lviv – 484.7 thousand tons (-11.5%) and Volyn region mines – 19.3 thousand tons, down by 52.1%. (Ukrainian metal)
