In 2018 Belarus increased the exports of anthracite coal to Ukraine 340-fold, and ordinary coal – 980-fold.
Belarus has no coal deposits of its own.
Coal re-exports last year totaled 853.9 thousand tons valued at $74.9 million.
Ukraine accounted for 588.5 thousand tons (0.6 thousand tons in 2017) at $50.3 million ($63 million), and EU – 265.4 thousand tons (163.4 thousand tons), including Poland – 261.9 thousand tons (163.3 thousand tons).
Belarus imported 1648.5 thousand tons of coal, including 374.9 thousand tons from Kazakhstan, 1273.5 thousand tons from Russia and 69.9 thousand tons from Ukraine.
Anthracite exports reached 107.3 thousand tons (0.3 thousand tons) at $9.3 million. Of this Ukraine received 102.2 thousand tons (0.3 thousand tons) at $8.8 million.
Belarus imported 173 thousand tons of anthracite, including 172.8 thousand tons from Russia. (Ukrainian metal)
