In January Ukrainian by-product coke plants imported 1.01 million tons of coking coal and coal concentrate, down by 2% MoM, but up by 11% YoY.
In December 2018 coal imports totaled 1.03 million tons, as in November 2018.
Local coal deliveries dropped by 8% MoM and by 9% YoY, to 250 thousand tons.
In general, in January plants received 1.26 million tons of coking coal, down by 3% MoM, but up by 7% YoY. The share of imported coal was 80.1% against 79.2% in December 2018 and 76.8% in January 2018.
In January metal companies received 814 thousand tons of coke, down by 11% YoY, including 755 thousand tons of local coke (down by 9%) and 59 thousand tons of imported (down by 31%). (Ukrainian metal)
