PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has launched a public tender on its online-trading platform to choose a project designer to create a sketch, design and working plan for a museum and educational complex, park area and sports cluster in the city of Magnitogorsk.

The announced tender is held in the framework of Attraction, a large multifunctional project for the development of the urban environment, due to be implemented in the South-Western part of Magnitogorsk. The area of land under development belongs to MMK. The total area of the plot is 357.3 hectares. The MMK management’s initiative for the exploration and development of the land is supported by the authorities of the city and the Investment Promotion Agency of the Chelyabinsk region. Plans for the Attraction project are included in the 2035 Development Strategy of Magnitogorsk city.

“The people of Magnitogorsk deserve to live in a fitting urban environment, to have all the opportunities for recreation, physical education and sports, and the possibility to lead a healthy lifestyle. The implementation of this project will allow a focus on green landscaped areas, modern high-level facilities, which allow for relaxation, educational and cultural enrichment and high-quality medical services. MMK will make every effort to ensure that the Attraction project is implemented in full and truly becomes a place of attraction for both Magnitogorsk residents and guests of the city,” said MMK’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Victor Rashnikov.

For Magnitogorsk, it will be a huge project and provide for the creation and development of an urban environment of a completely new standard. The development will be rolled out in stages. During the first stage, the heart of the project will be constructed on an area of over 160 hectares, which will include a museum and educational complex, a multifunctional sports center and a landscaped park. The park area will be divided into several zones: a family recreation area with footpaths, picnic shelters, playgrounds and two artificial ponds; an active recreation area with an amusement park, safari park, leisure areas, skate park and areas for public events. The whole area including all buildings and facilities will be used all-year round, and the entire space will be integrated into the urban environment.
