In January-September 2018 Kazakhstan exported 14.2 thousand tons of uranium valued at $699.1 million, down by 18.8% and by 17% YoY respectively.
China accounted for 57% of exports – 8 thousand tons valued at $422.6 million. Canada imported 2.6 thousand tons at $108.2 million (18.2%) and Russia – 2.4 thousand tons at $113.6 million (16.6%).
Kazakhstan is the largest uranium miner in the world. In 2017 it accounted for 38.3% of the global uranium output. (Ukrainian metal)
