In the town of Sibay (Republic of Bashkortostan) a copper quarry will be flooded in 5-7 days.
According to the mayor Rustem Afzalov, at present oxidizing processes in the quarry are being eliminated.
In order to completely eliminated fires there it was decided to partially flood the Sibay quarry and the Novosibay mine.
In a week the specialists will prepare the domes of the mine and remove machinery.
The flood will be temporarily, for 40 to 75 days.
When the water is pumped dry, the enterprise will resume operation. (Ukrainian metal)
