Employees of Eti Bakir Tereksai left their working places and do not go to work because of the provocation of individuals, Company CEO Mahir Tezdzhan reported.
According to him, earlier law enforcement agencies detained 14 residents of Terek-Sai village for beating up company employees. On December 2 local residents held a rally demanding the release of the detainees.
“At the same time, a group of people who have been engaged in illegal antimony ore mining for many years on the licensed area of Eti Bakyr Tereksai, seized the moment, agitating the company’s employees not to go to work. Because of the provocation, people do not go to work,” Mahir Tezdzhan said.
To prevent the failure of mining machinery and equipment, the company temporarily suspended production and mothballed it for an indefinite time.
“The company is socially oriented. To date, more than 350 people have worked at Eti Bakyr Tereksai enterprise, 96% of them are local residents. The average salary is 22,500 soms. Since 2016 we have paid over 750 million soms in taxes to the budget of Kyrgyzstan,” the General Director of Eti Bakyr Tereksai said.
