OMZ-Spetsstal has commissioned a new coal injector for the LF-VD/VOD machine in the steel-smelting shop No. 8.
The device will inject carbon-containing powder into metal during smelting at the LF-VD/VOD machine.
Prior to the assembly of the coal injector, the carbon was added with the help of carbon-containing wire.
The project will help the company decrease the continuity of the smelting process due to the higher speed of material loading, while at the same time decreasing the prime cost of the products due to the use of cheaper materials. (Ukrainian metal)
