The German chemical concern BASF has chosen the site for its first European plant to produce components for accumulator batteries near the Norilsk Nickel enterprise in the city of Harjavalta (Finland).

The commissioning of the plant, to be constructed on the basis of the operating since 2018 pilot manufacture, is scheduled for late 2020. It will have the capacity to provide batteries for some 300 thousand electric cars per year.
