Miners of the state enterprise Lisichanskugol mine named after Kapustin are still striking underground.

On October 19, 33 miners refused to return to the surface.

“The unions have provided them with food and water. But they have stayed without food for a day”, Mikhail Volynets, the chairman of Independent Miners’ Union, reported.

The miners demand clearing their salary debts, which amount to some 170 million UAH.

They also demand the resignation of the enterprise CEO Valentin Kiselev, who hasn’t been seen in the office for several weeks.

The striking miners are from the first and second shifts, while the third shift miners were not allowed into the mine by the administration. (Ukrainian metal)
