In 5 years the KamAZ foundry works has decreased the level of faulty products 4-fold, to 2.05%.
By the next year the works intends to have reduced it by 25% more.
According to the chief technical engineer of the company Vitaliy Martemyanov, every day special working groups analyze the conditions of the foundry rigs and decide on the need to repair them.
The issues of quality improvement are regularly brought up to meetings, including with the director of the works.
The increase of product quality also has to do with the modernization of the machinery and the purchase of laboratory equipment. This year the foundry works has commissioned new Spectrolab M-12 spectrometers to determine the chemical composition of pig iron and iron-based alloys samples. (Ukrainian metal)
