The monument of Volodymyr the Great, the Baptist of Kievan Rus, was installed on the pedestal in Kriviy Rih. For this purpose, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih provided its special equipment – Liebherr automobile crane, load-carrying capacity of which was 90 tons and the boom length was 52 meters.
The new eight-meter monument is cast of bronze and its weight is 3.6 tons. The height of the pedestal, on which the sculpture of Volodymyr the Great is installed, is 14 meters. The total height of the sculpture is 22 meters, which is 1.6 meters higher than the monument of Volodymyr the Great in Kyiv. This monument will be the highest monument of the Baptist of Kievan Rus not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe.
The monument of Volodymyr the Great was opened on September 27, on the day of celebration of Elevation of the Holly Cross. The plant’s heavy equipment, such as autohydraulic hoist of 50 meters height based on KamAZ motor truck, was also involved in monument unveiling.
It’s not the first time, when PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih provides the city with its own heavy equipment. Monolithic stone-pedestal for Cossack Rog, dome for Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi Cathedral and other objects were installed using cranes of the company. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
