Beloretsk Iron and Steel Works is testing its new ropes with polymer coating in the coal pits of South Kuzbass and at the Korshunovsky GOK quarry.

The company will start mass production of the steel ropes in early 2019. They are intended to replace imported analogues in mining and oil industries, as well as in machine, bridge and shipbuilding.

A rope with the diameter of 57 mm has been tested for over 6 months – from February till August at the temperature ranging from minus 45 to plus 37 degrees C. During this period the excavator equipped with the rope loaded 1 million 40 thousand cubic meters of rock.

The South Kuzbass is now testing another steel rope with the diameter of 52 mm. An excavator was equipped with the rope in early June. The rope has been in use for 55 days already. (Ukrainian metal)
