On August 2 a contractor employee perished at the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.
The man fell from on high. The accident happened because of the safety rules violations.
This is the third lethal accident at the works since the beginning of the year. In March a person fell into the ventilation shaft of the sinter factory. In June a contractor employee was mortally injured in the blast furnace shop.
4 people have died since the start of the year at Azovstal. The latest accident happened on July 31. 2 contractor employees fell from on high. One of them died at once, while the second one was saved in the hospital.
Because of the rising number of accidents all the Metinvest Mariupol plants will be checked for labor safety compliance. (Ukrainian metal)
