Russian Copper Company intends to organize autoclave manufacture of copper cathodes at the site of Mikheyevskiy Mining and Processing Works.
“In 2014 we commissioned Mikheyevskiy GOK with the capacity of 18 million tons of ore per year. In 2017 the capacity increased to 27 million tons of ore. With such an increase it was decided to start processing copper concentrate into the cathodes to optimize transport expenses and provide the market with the higher added value product”, RCC president Vsevolod Levin said.
The new manufacture will produce 100 thousand tons of copper cathodes, some 25 thousand tons of nickelous sulfate and 350 tons of cobalt salt per year.
Investments in the project are estimated at 45 billion rubles. The new works will create over 1 thousand jobs. (Ukrainian metal)
