According to Mikhail Volynets, the chairman of the Independent Miners’ Union of Ukraine, there are partial salary debts to Selidovugol miners for 2015 and 2017.
“The miners have blocked the Moscovskaya Street in the town of Selidovo. This road leads south in the direction of Mariupol, Zaporozhye and Krasnogorovka. Some miners want to go to work, while others stop the buses. The situation has gone out of control. And this should not be so. The miners must not quarrel with each other. The Union management will go there. Such a situation has to be under control”, he said.
The demand of the miners is usual – clear salary debts.
“They were not paid the March salary in full, there is also a partial debt for 2015 and 2017. We met with the minister of energy and coal industry, he said he would not give money until the CEO resigned”, he added.
In May Volynets claimed that the salary debts to state miners exceeded 740 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
