In a year energy efficient frequency converters have allowed the Central Mining and Processing Works to save 52% of electric energy during the pumps operation.
The machinery was assembled within the energy-servicing project with DTEK ESKO.
In March 2017 DTEK ESKO financed and assembled 12 ABB frequency converters to automatically regulate the operation of electric engines at the processing factory.
At that time it was supposed that the ESKO-project would increase energy efficiency of the pumps by 25% and would save the works some 2 million kW-h or 3 million UAH.
But the real electric energy save was 52.3%, reaching even to 61% in some months. In 12 months converters have saved 3.4 million kW-h of electricity (or 3 thousand tons of CO2 pollution) and decreased the company electricity expensed by 5.5 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
