In 2017 Russia exported 5.37 million tons of steel scrap, down by 4.4% YoY.
According to the customs statistics, this is the lowest volume of exports in the past 4 years.
Revenue increased by 21%, to $1.329 billion.
Turkey imported the most scrap – 44% of the volume, down by 3.9%, but Russia’s revenue grew by 24%. In December 2017 the average price (FOB Russian border) was $250.1 per ton.
Belarus imported 25%, up by 9.1% and by 48.6% respectively. The average price was $285.6 per ton.
South Korea imported 18.4%, down by 9.2%, but up by 6.6% at the price of $182.8 per ton. (Ukrainian metal)
