Last year saw a number of manufacturing records at MMK.

In February 2017 the 2500 hot-rolling mill produced 180 million tons of hot-rolled metal since its commissioning in 1960. Today one of the largest mills at MMK is under reconstruction, scheduled to be completed in 2020. Following the reconstruction the mill’s capacity will grow from 3.6 million to 5 million tons per year.

In May 2017 MMK produced its 30-millionth ton of metal at the 2350 mill. The machine was produced in 1935 and now produces sheet for bridge and machine-building, as well as a number of other industries.

The 5000 plate mill, put into operation in July 2009, in May 2017 produced its 8-millionth ton of hot-rolled metal.

In July 2017 the 2000 cold-rolling mull produced 9-millionth ton since its commissioning.

In August 2017 continuous dip galvanizing machines Nos. 1 and 2 reached the output of 9 million tons of galvanized metal.

But MMK’s biggest manufacturing result last year was the production of the 800-millionth ton of steel, since it’s first open hearth furnace was put into operation in 1933. (Ukrainian metal)
