To fulfill the order of a major space industry company Zlatoust Electrometallurgical Works decided to start developing a new alloy.
The first stage was the smelting of a trial batch of the HN43BMTU-VD alloy in the open induction furnace.
After all the tests the company was able to manufacture iron-nickel based heat-resistant alloy in the form of 100 mm rounds. (Ukrainian metal)
