ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih plans to invest $1.5 billion in modernization until 2020.
In particular, the works intends to finish construction of the two coking batteries complex (Nos. 5 and 6). The battery No. 6 has been constructed and commissioned, while the battery No. 5 will be put in operation in a couple of months.
The company also wants to finish construction of 2 continuous casting machines, reconstruct the converter shop and sinter shop No. 2, modernize the bar mill No. 4, as well as replace mining machinery.
This year AMKR intended to invest $267 million in modernization, in particular, in the construction of the ladle furnace, coking battery, continuous casting machine and sinter manufacture modernization. (Ukrainian metal)
