Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk has said that coalmining companies will get UAH 1 billion in November-December for the purchase of new mining equipment.
“For the first time in four years, the government of Vladimir Groysman has allocated UAH 1 billion for technical re-equipment. I think that in November-December, these funds will be transformed into mining equipment,” Nasalyk said at a Government Question Hour meeting.
He also noted that the Verkhovna Rada supported a proposal to allocate UAH 2.5 billion for the modernization of coalmines in 2018.
“What will it give to our country? The consumption of anthracite coal decreased by 3.5 million tons, but the consumption of gas coal increased. Thus, we will do everything so that there is no unprofitable mine by the end of the summer of 2018,” the minister added. (Ukrinform/Ukrainian metal)
