The further fall of the world prices for iron ore threaten the operation of Ukrainian mining and processing works.
According to the Federation of Ukrainian Metallurgists chairman Sergey Belenkiy, in just a week the prices have fallen by 15%, from $78 to $66 per ton.
“If ore is cheaper than $60 per ton, some enterprises will become profitless. If in addition the railroad transportation tariffs are raised, all of them will be shut down”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
