PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih granted a certificate for total amount of 3 million UAH to purchase special equipment and repair of two patient rooms in the burn ward to Kriviy Rih Municipal Clinic No. 2 of Dnipropetrovsk Region Council.
Kriviy Rih has big medical center – Kriviy Rih Municipal Clinic No. 2 of Dnipropetrovsk Region Council, based on which the burn ward operates. In view of the issue importance, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih made a decision to donate financial aid amounting to 3 million UAH to buy special equipment and repair two patient rooms in the clinic burn ward. The repair and new medical equipment are expected to improve quality of medical services in the ward. First of all, it will enable to improve resuscitation actions, quality of skin-plastic surgery, to reduce the patient rehabilitation and recovery time. The specificity of burn injuries is such that treatment of severe burn injuries must start within the first hour after the injury.
Repair of patient rooms, above UAH 650 thousand are to be allocated for, will make the patients rehabilitation conditions more comfortable, which is important because the rehabilitation period takes 6 to 12 months depending on severity and extent of the injury.
Sergiy Teslyuk, Chief Occupational Health and Safety Officer of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “First medical aid shall be rendered in a timely and qualified manner, and rehabilitation shall be conducted in proper sanitary conditions, and sometimes in microclimate conditions. PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih being a socially oriented company is always ready to support Kriviy Rih people, as all of them apply to services of the city medical units. Earlier the company allocated funds to purchase renal dialyzer, electrosurgical tissue welding apparatus, urologic workstation, angiographic installation and other equipment, as well as donated aid for the premises repair. It is important for us to keep partnership with the city and its residents, thus, this year we made a decision to allocate funds for the purchase of special equipment for the burn ward and renovation of two patient rooms of this ward. The burn ward of Kriviy Rih Municipal Clinic No. 2 of Dnipropetrovsk Region Council provides treatment and rehabilitation of patients with heat injuries mainly got off-the-job”.
Irina Pristupa, Director of Medical Center of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “The burn injury is a very complicated medical and social issue. According to World Health Organization, the percentage of burn injuries out of all types of injuries accounts for 6-8% and the number of people who get burn injuries is growing all over the world, especially in industrialized regions. In our city, there is the burn ward in Municipal Clinic No. 2. Highly qualified specialists work there. We understand that medicine does not stand still, and new equipment, technologies and medical products appear. We hope that the present (certificate) of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will facilitate higher efficiency, better quality of services and availability of medical aid. Our city has so many industrial companies, thus, there should be all required means for qualified medical aid, including the cases of burn injuries when each second means a lot”.
