Irkutsk Aluminum Works has fulfilled the first contract to produce wire rod of 3000 and 4000 series alloys. The batch of 20 tons has been sent to a Moscow region works, producing welding wire.
The wire to weld aluminum sections and structures is in demand all across Russia, but is mostly manufactured of imported wire rod.
The new manufacture at IrkAZ will let local producers increase their market share and will also decrease the dependence on foreign suppliers. (Ukrainian metal)
