Kumtor Gold Company has released the Annual Environment and Sustainability Report for 2016, Media Relations Department of KGK reported.
The task of the report is to inform government agencies, the non-governmental sector and the public of the country about the state of environmental activities at the mine and about the environment protection activity of the company.
The release of the reports is a voluntary initiative of the company aimed at further expanding information openness and maintaining a constructive dialogue with all interested parties.
The format of the report meets the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative for Mining and Metals Sectors Supplement.
In determining the scope, content, and boundaries of this report, the company considered the range of issues that are most significant for the company and for all the parties concerned. The report was reviewed by the Global Reporting Initiative’s experts and found to be in compliance with all its requirements.
The report will be sent to state institutions, local governments, public organizations and libraries located in the Kyrgyz Republic. (24.kg/Ukrainian metal)
