Russia: railroad metal transportation down in January-July 2017

According to the Russian Railroads, in January-July the company transported 727.3 million tons of cargo, up by 3.3% YoY.

In particular, the railroads transported 206.1 million tons of coal, up by 9.8% YoY, and 8.5 million tons of ferrous scrap, up by 2.4%.

At the same time transportation of coke decreased by 1.6%, to 6.5 million tons, of iron and manganese ore – by 0.2%, to 63.8 million tons, of ferrous metals – by 0.4%, to 41.3 million tons, and of non-ferrous ore by 2.3%, to 12 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
