In January-June Zaporizhstal, one of the largest taxpayers of Zaporozhye region and Ukraine, produced 1.582 million tons of rolled metal, down by 8.9% YoY.

Steel output decreased by 4.8%, to 1.893 million tons, pig iron – by 9.7%, to 1.67 million tons.

In June Zaporizhstal produced 276.1 thousand tons of pig iron, 306.1 thousand tons of steel and 253.7 thousand tons of rolled metal.

“The decrease in output has to do with the blast furnace No. 3 shut down in November 2016 for a massive overhaul. Investments into the project totaled 1.5 billion UAH”, the company noted.

In 2016 Zaporizhstal produced 3.368 million tons of rolled metal, 3.891 million tons of steel and 3.6 million tons of pig iron, up by 0.5%, but down by 2.2% and by 5.5% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
