The Vice Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko noted the importance of supporting Belarus Iron and Steel Works.
“In 2015 Belarus Iron and Steel Works (BMZ trademark) launched a small-section rolling mill which helped satisfy 60% of the industry’s demand. This is a totally competitive company that is about to enter the international market. But we should not stop at this point. BMZ has a task to fully satisfy the demand of mechanical engineering for steel. This is quite an ambitious goal requiring $800-850 million of investment. And we have to settle this problem,” Vladimir Semashko said.
According to him, he is waiting for the Belarusian Industry Ministry to draw up a feasibility study. The vice premier highlighted that the country was interested in attracting investors to its enterprises. (BelTA/Ukrainian metal)
