Ukraine: Russia takes 1 million tons of coal from occupied Donbass

In 2016 Russia received 940 thousand tons of anthracite and 95 thousand tons of other coal from occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

These are only the volumes that have been officially included in the Russian Railroads statistics.

In 2015 Russia illegally took some 1.3 million tons of anthracite from the occupied territories.

Donbass coal is taken to Russia by the fugitive Sergey Kurchenko companies Petroleum Capital and Vneshtorgservice, as well as a number of other firms.

Ukrainian coal is processed at Donetsk and Lugansk factories, goes through the Ukraine-uncontrolled part of border to Russia and from there is exported to Europe and Africa. (Ukrainian metal)
