Belarus’ investment climate is comfortable for business, director of the Belarusian-Danish company BuySteel Yuri Firko said as he attended the Gomel Economic Forum.

An investment agreement to set up a manufacturing facility in Mozyr District with the participation of the Belarusian-Danish BuySteel was signed during the plenary session of the forum on May 19. The investment will amount to $3 million. The company will create about 30 jobs. The project is aimed at launching the production for applying polymeric coating on metal surfaces.

“Special coating helps steel resist weather influences, deformation, and other mechanical influences over 25 years. Such products are widely used in the construction and engineering industries, for example, in the manufacture of metal tile, sandwich panels,” Yuri Firko said.

There is a small similar facility in Belarus. However, according to the investor, the one to be set up by the Belarusian-Danish company will be significantly larger. The launch of the enterprise is planned for the second half of 2018.

Yuri Firko stressed that Belarus was chosen because it offered favorable conditions for investors.

“Belarus is a very attractive market for us, including because it is part of the common customs area with Russia and Kazakhstan. Therefore we see the opening of the manufacturing facility as a good investment,” he said. (BelTA/Ukrainian metal)
