The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to provide 200 million UAH to increase labor safety at state mines.
“The commission that checked safety at mines has presented results of its work. The situation is pretty bad. I don’t want to go into detail, but we have to start improving the safety of our miners at once”, the vice-prime-minister Vladimir Kistion wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, 7 out of 9 directors of state mining companies have been rebuked, some 100 employees have been fined for 30 thousand UAH.
“So I ordered the labor ministry to carry on checks. Now we’re also developing the mechanism to provide 200 million UAH for all state miners to have protection devices and for the overall improvement of the situation”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
