In January-March Ukraine mined 10 million tons of coal, down by 3.3% YoY, or by 327.8 thousand tons.
In particular, power-generating coal output reached 8.6 million tons, up by 7.8% YoY, or by 616.8 thousand tons, coking coal – 1.8 million tons, down by 13.9%, or by 289 thousand tons.
Despite the total increase in coalmining, the state coal enterprises decreased output by 17.1% YoY, to 1.33 million tons, down by 275 thousand tons. In particular, power-generating coal output dropped by 16.9%, or by 213.2 thousand tons, to 1.05 million tons, that of coking coal – by 17.9%, or by 61.8 thousand tons, to 280 thousand tons.
