The authorities of the Schelkovo district of the Moscow region were presented the project of modernization of Schelkovo Iron and Steel Works and the putting into operation of the tin-plate line.
According to the production workshop head Vladimir Merkulov, investments will total some 3.5 billion rubles.
The main problem in the realization of the project is logistics, in particular, the territory has no fire brigade road. The local road does not meet all the requirements. The authorities decided to settle the matter.
At present Russia produces some 350 thousand tons of tin-plate. The project capacity of the Schelmet will be 100 thousand tons. The first products are planned to be produced in 2 years. (Ukrainian metal)
