Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works, a part of Mechel, hit several historical output highs in March.

In particular, the blast furnace shop produced over 370 thousand tons of pig iron, the highest volume since 2009. Steel smelting in the oxygen-converter shop reached 350 thousand tons, which was an absolute record since the shop’s putting into operation. The maximum output in its entire history was demonstrated by the continuous cast slabs machine – 75 thousand tons.

The works also produced the largest volumes of rolled metal – over 65 thousand tons. Rail sales reached 35 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
