In January-February Ukraine exported 347.6 thousand tons of steel-making pig iron, down by 10% YoY, following the increase of 50.6% in January.

According to the State Fiscal Service, the value of the pig iron exported was $99.644 million, up by 56.5% YoY.

Pig iron was mostly exported to USA (50.25%), Turkey (19.2%) and Italy (12.7%).

In January-February Ukraine imported 586 tons of pig iron valued at $286 thousand, as opposed to 78 tons at $39 thousand in January-February 2016. The major suppliers were Russia (91.26%) and Germany (8.74%).

In 2016 Ukraine exported 2.54 million tons of pig iron valued at $551.21 million, up by 16.9% and by 7.9% YoY respectively; and imported 1.755 thousand tons valued at $661 million. (Ukrainian metal)
