In January Ukrainian by-product coke works produced 1.008 million tons of 6% moisture coke, down by 7.5% YoY. December 2016 saw the output on the level of 997 thousand tons.
“In January there was a slight increase in production, but February will be a failure. Alchevskkoks has halted, Yenakievo, Makeevka, and Yasinovsky Coke Works all have problems because of the blockade. Avdiivka Coke is working unstably. Moreover, this month is short – just 28 days”, Ukrkoks CEO Anatoly Starovoit said.
According to him, despite the blockade Ukrainian coke plants have been operating without considerable breaks, on their own coal reserves. (Ukrainian metal)
