In 2016 Russia imported 478 thousand tons of steel pipes, up by 17% YoY.
According to the Federal Customs Service, far foreign countries supplied 190 thousand tons of pipes, down from 201 thousand tons in 2015.
Steel pipes imports from CIS increased from 206 thousand tons to 288 thousand tons.
On the whole metal imports in 2016 dropped by 2.3% YoY, to 3.914 million tons, including imports from far foreign countries down from 1.645 million tons to 1.553 million tons, and from CIS up from 2.924 million tons to 3.115 million tons.
In 2016 Russia produced 10.1 million tons of pipes, down by 11.5% YoY. December 2016 pipe output went up by 3.1% MoM, but dropped by 3.1% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
