Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works has asked the President of Ukraine Petr Poroshenko to help break the railroad blockade near the Svetlanovo-Shpilovo stations route in Lugansk region.

According to the company letter, DMZ, Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, as well as Alchevsk Coke and Chemical Works pay taxes to the state budget. Last year they paid over 1.1 billion UAH.

“The railroad blockade will affect all the companies resulting in difficulties with tax and salary payments and growing social tension”, the letter said.

As the companies are export-oriented with foreign currency revenue over $1 billion in 2016, the blockade could reduce them as well. (Ukrainian metal)
