ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has developed and put new casting technology into operation at LFCC. It is high carbon commercial quality steel 85 for production of wire rod with 0.82-0.89% carbon content at hybrid mill LSM-WRM-6 according to the pilot order (110 tons). The customer is the biggest consumer of high carbon wire rod and the key buyer of wire rod produced by ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih – Odessa Private Joint Stock Company Stalkanat.
This wire rod is required for pre-commissioning activities on new equipment of Private Joint Stock Company Stalkanat. This equipment is intended for production of pre-stressing strands. Thenew equipment includes a drawing machine, rope twister and a modern laboratory complex. New wire rod of corresponds to the State Standard of Ukraine DSTU 3683-98 (with the extensive list of additional requirements). The wire rod successfully passed the tests and received good feedback from the customer.

Taking into account that its production is new both for Odessa plant and ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the team of our company quickly and in a responsible way approached the production of wire rod in small batches. Processing of the first 10 tons of wire rod has already made a great progress. The estimated capacity of the complex at the first stage will amount to 800 tons of strands monthly with the increase of up to 1600 tons of strands monthly in near one and a half year.
